Hey there! Fancy whipping up some tasty Riso Cantonese for four? It's super easy, and you'll have a yummy meal in no time. Here's how you do it:

What you'll need:

  • About 300g of long-grain rice (like Basmati or Jasmine)
  • 200g of cooked ham, cut into small cubes
  • 100g of frozen peas
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • A pinch of salt and pepper

Let's get cooking!

  1. Cook the rice: First things first, cook your rice according to the packet instructions. Once it's cooked, fluff it up with a fork and let it cool down a bit. This helps it not get too mushy when you stir-fry it.
  2. Scramble the eggs: Crack the eggs into a bowl, add a tiny pinch of salt and pepper, and whisk them up. Heat a small pan with a little bit of oil and scramble the eggs until they're just cooked but still a little soft. Take them out of the pan and roughly chop them.
  3. Sauté the onion: Put the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook it until it's soft and see-through – this usually takes about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the ham and peas: Toss in the cubed ham and frozen peas. Stir them around for a couple of minutes until the peas are bright green and heated through.
  5. Bring it all together: Now, add the cooked rice to the pan with the ham and peas. Stir everything well to combine. Pour in the soy sauce and mix it through so the rice gets a nice light brown color.
  6. Stir in the eggs: Finally, add the scrambled eggs to the pan and gently stir them in.
  7. Serve it up! Have a taste and add a little more soy sauce or pepper if you think it needs it. Serve your delicious Riso Cantonese while it's nice and warm.

And that's it! Simple as that. Enjoy your homemade Riso Cantonese! Let me know how it turns out. 😊
